NEW! Beginner Backgammon Lessons

BEGINNER BACKGAMMON

An old game. New friends. Two Mondays well spent.

Come learn one of the world’s oldest and most enduring games with Jennifer, a career educator, and Martin—“The Bloke”—her English husband and partner in Newport Fine Linens.

For centuries, backgammon has brought people together across countries, cultures and generations. We think that sounds particularly good right now: put down the phone, exercise the brain, enjoy a little friendly competition and spend a few hours around a table with old friends and new ones.

Over two Mondays, we’ll explore the history of backgammon, how to play, the rules of the game, and strategies that will have you playing with confidence. Absolute beginners are very welcome.
