Mahjong Classes

This is a register by email only offering. We offer Beginner Mahjong classes at Newport Fine Linens in three week cohorts.  The class is taught by the owner of Newport Fine Linens who is career educator now retired after almost 40 years of teaching. Jennifer has taught grades K-12 coursework in both general education and special educaton settings, as well as Reading, Social Studies, and English Literature.  Jennifer has also been an Adjunct Professor at Sage Graduate School in NYS, and provided professional development to teachers, administrators and school board members while on the Assistant Director of the Eastern New York Regional School Council with School Improvement teams at the New York State Education Department.  She is now "having fun!" teaching Mahjong to both absolute beginners on Mondays and a new intermediate class on Tuesdays. The beginner classes are currently on Mondays during the summer months and there is a daytime cohort from 2:30 to 4:30 and an evening cohort from 5:30 to 7:30.   There are daytime and evening cohorts on Tuesday for the Intermediate Cohorts also.  The classes are taught in a quiet dedicated area in our store and students are provided with a binder and educational materials. THIS WILL BE FUN! At Newport Fine Linens we support the party and Mahjong is a lovely way to start having small parties at home or out in the wild (public open play settings).
